On December 5 (Fri.), "NQ Version COO Human Resource Development Program Kickoff" was held online.

This program is part of the NQ Global Startup Gateway ("Nakanoshima Qross Global Startup Creation and Globalization Promotion Project") sponsored by the Osaka Prefectural Government. The program is based on the "COO (Chief Operating Officer) Human Resource Development Program" developed by Alloy Therapeutics' 82VS Venture Studios for U.S. startups, and is implemented for startups in Japan as the "Nakanoshima Qross Version COO Human Resource Development Program".

Twenty people from diverse backgrounds, including startups, business companies, venture capitalists, and support organizations, have been selected to participate in this program.

Mr. Katsuya Ishitani (Assistant Director, Life Science Industry Division, Growth Industry Promotion Office, Commerce, Industry and Labor Department, Osaka Prefectural Government), the host of the program, opened the session by expressing his expectations for the program. He expressed his hope that the program would deepen participants' understanding of the role of the COO, who is responsible for promoting startup businesses, and through active interaction among participants, produce human resources who will be continuously involved in the startup ecosystem centered on Nakanoshima Qross in the future. The participants also discussed their vision for the future.

Mr. Yoshihide Ishii, President (Chief Executive Officer) of Alloy Therapeutics K.K., then gave an overview of the program as a whole. The program consists of a combination of multiple camps and online sessions over a period of approximately nine weeks, and is designed to systematically learn about the drug discovery ecosystem and the roles required of COOs.

Mr. Takehiro Okumura, General Manager of Alloy Therapeutics K.K. and Quality Manager of Alloy Cell Therapies, explained how the camp would proceed and the schedule, and shared the policy of deepening learning through lectures, discussions, and interaction among the participants. The participants shared the policy to deepen their learning through lectures, discussions, and interactions with each other.

At the end of the session, all the selected applicants introduced themselves and shared their backgrounds and motivations for participating in this program. The kick-off event was a gathering of participants from diverse backgrounds, mainly in the fields of drug discovery and biotech, who showed a keen interest in the development of Japan's drug discovery ecosystem and the creation of startups that can play an active role globally.
